Maundy Thursday will be observed this week with a statewide day of prayer. Governor Kim Reynolds has declared this Thursday a statewide day of prayer. The 59th Annual Iowa Prayer Breakfast will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A stream of the event will be on the Iowa Prayer Breakfast website from 7:30-9 a.m. and is open to the public. The Iowa Prayer Breakfast started in 1961 and brings together Iowa’s governor, state legislators, community and religious leaders with music, readings of scripture, and a keynote speaker. Author Dr. Jim Garlow will present this year’s keynote address titled “Hearing God’s Voice in a Crisis.” Click here to view the Iowa Prayer Breakfast on Thursday.
