Washington County’s new ambulance services director provided an update on establishing the department at this week’s board of supervisors meeting. Jeremy Peck said they have obtained the county’s NPI, which is the National Provider Identifier. He said they’re working to get everything in place and have started the hiring process for different positions.
As far as equipment is concerned, he said, “We’re working to purchase equipment still. We’re looking to get a lease on the building so we can get our Medicare number. We’re also, at this point I’m working on getting our scheduling software changed over from the current Washington County Ambulance Incorporated, same with the billing software. And we also have to purchase new billing software to change over from what we’re currently using. So that’s all in the mix.”
The current contract for ambulance services expires at midnight June 30th and the new county department is set to take over on July 1st.
