Southeast Iowa has a new swine specialist ready to work with area producers. Matt Romoser is the new southeast Iowa swine specialist for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Romoser and other Extension employees are working from home as much as possible. Romoser is using online platforms to hit the ground running. Eventually, he will be based out of the Johnson County Extension Office.
He grew up on a family grain and livestock farm near Keota, and was a member of FFA and Washington County 4-H. He attended Iowa State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree focused on swine reproductive technology. After graduating, he was a technical services specialist for a swine genetics company.
He invites people to call him at 319-430-7533 or email mromoser@iastate.edu with their questions and concerns.
