Another COVID-19 death was announced in Washington County by the Iowa Department of Public Health on Sunday. The person was an elderly adult over 81-years-old. Washington County now has 81 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and four related deaths.

As of Sunday, Iowa has 1,587 cases of the novel coronavirus and 41 deaths. IDPH also states that so far, 674 Iowans have recovered from the upper respiratory virus and there have been just over 16,000 negative test results.

People are urged to stay home as much as possible to slow and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Also, remember to wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, cover your coughs and sneezes, and limit contact with people outside of your household.
