On Friday the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released an updated schedule for summer sports.

If school resumes May 1^st, the first practice for softball and baseball teams will be May 18^th and competitions can get underway on June 1^st. This start date was pushed back a few weeks to alleviate some of the overlap with the updated spring sports schedule. The postseason for softball will start July 6^th with state being July 20^th-24^th. Baseball will start up their playoffs on July 9^th and state will be July 24^th-August 1^st.
