The Washington County Conservation Board will begin collecting registration forms for the 2020 summer day camps, but will not collect registration fees at this time. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the board is waiting for a decision at the state level to be made regarding summer activities before asking for registration fees. Executive Director Zach Rozmus says he is optimistic for summer camps to happen on schedule, but the board will continue to monitor the situation to be able to make the right decision in the months ahead. Individuals and families can still fill out a form for any of the four summer camps and email it to Naturalist Megan Jorgensen if they are interested. Filling out the forms now allows staff to know how many students they should prepare to have in attendance. This year’s camp themes include the Olympics, Harry Potter, Lewis and Clark, and wilderness exploration.
