Iowa saw an increase in COVID-19 cases over the weekend with nearly 600 new cases identified. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, as of Sunday Iowa has 2,902 confirmed cases of the upper respiratory virus and 75 total deaths. There was an increase in testing over the weekend with nearly 1,900 people tested across the state.

In Washington County there have been 120 cases confirmed and five deaths. Of those 120 cases, 82 people have recovered. Overall in Iowa, 24,550 people have been tested and so far 1,171 people have recovered.

People are urged to continue to social distance, wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and disinfect high-traffic surfaces.
