After the success of their first pop-up food pantry event, the cities of Kalona, Riverside, and Wellman are teaming up for another drive-thru food pantry event. The latest event held on April 18th saw 4,440 pounds of food distributed and delivered to individuals within the three cities. Kalona City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says the next event will be held on May 2nd and food will be distributed at the City of Kalona Public Works Buildings at 711 A Avenue, Wellman City Hall, and Hall Park in Riverside. Deliveries will be available if an individual cannot make the event. Cash, checks, and food donations will be accepted as well. If individuals have food emergencies that need to be fulfilled before May 2nd, need diapers or baby formula, or would like their food delivered to them, they are asked to call their respective city hall or Ryan Schlabaugh.
