Another COVID-19 death was confirmed in Washington County on Monday bringing the total to six. The person was over 81 years old. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, as of Monday Iowa has 5,868 positive cases of COVID-19 and 127 deaths due to the virus. So far, one in 82 Iowans have been tested.
State Senator Kevin Kinney encourages people to stay home and continue measures for social distancing, “Be safe out there. We’ll get through this; it’s just going to take a while. And hopefully we’ll be getting back to normal soon.”
Washington County has had 136 total cases and 100 of those people have recovered. Johnson County has had 437 cases and six deaths, Louisa County has had 267 cases and two deaths, Henry County has had 32 cases and one death, Iowa County has had 18 cases, Jefferson County has had six cases, and Keokuk County has had two confirmed cases.
