Two people from Fairfield were injured in a car wreck and were airlifted to the hospital Tuesday night. According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 8:23 p.m. the wreck happened in Davis County. The Mazda Tribute driven by 22-year-old Preston Michael Broeker was northbound on Willow Trail when he lost control and the vehicle slid into the west ditch. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top.

Also in the vehicle was passenger 29-year-old Ashley Ada Marie Luke. Neither one was wearing a seat belt. They were each transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for medical treatment.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
