Additional businesses are now able to open as COVID-19 restrictions continue to be lifted gradually in Iowa. Governor Kim Reynolds has approved statewide the opening of dental offices, campgrounds, drive-in movie theaters, tanning facilities, and medical spas. Twenty-two counties including Washington County are still expected to maintain closures of social clubs, fitness centers, malls, and retail establishments through May 15th.

Washington County now has 152 positive cases of the virus. The state updated the website and the data to the public Thursday, which no longer shows the number of deaths, number of recovered cases, or the total number of people tested by county; that is only available in statewide totals.

Reynolds says that business owners will decide if now is the right time to open their doors and people are still expected to practice social distancing and good hygiene practices.
