Iowa added over 500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to the state’s total over the weekend. As of Sunday, Iowa has 11,959 confirmed cases and 265 deaths due to the upper respiratory virus. Friday was the first time that the Iowa Department of Public Health reported more cases of recovery than new confirmed cases, 419 and 398 respectively. That was also the trend for Saturday’s figures, but not so on Sunday.
Washington County added four confirmed cases over the weekend for a total of 159. No new deaths were attributed to the virus in Washington County. There was one additional death in Louisa County, bringing the total to three deaths and 282 total cases.
