A stolen puppy and fishing items were recovered by authorities in Mt. Pleasant on Monday. The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was notified of a burglary and a six-week old pit bull puppy was taken on Sunday between 1:55 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. The department asked for the public’s assistance in locating them. The search brought police across town where they found Mt. Pleasant resident 38-year-old Lacey Woodsmall in possession of the puppy, fishing equipment, and other stolen items. Woodsmall was charged with burglary in the first degree, a class B felony. The Mt. Pleasant Police were assisted by several concerned citizens.
