The Annual Hillcrest Academy Fine Arts Awards Night looked very different from years past, as it was held entirely online due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Even without live music and an audience to cheer for the success of students, the event celebrated students who showed off their talents and hard work. The ceremony was hosted by members of the Hillcrest Academy National Honors Society including Jesse Slater, Mia Graber, and Abby Fritz. This year, the Iowa State Bar American Citizenship Award was given to Mia Graber. Also, the Bernie Saggau Award, given to a student who exemplifies a patriotic spirit, strong religious and moral convictions, and living and professing qualities of honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship, went to Kobe Borntrager. Other recognitions and awards given out were the outstanding student awards and the induction of the newest members of the Hillcrest Academy National Honors Society.
