Our tenth biggest story from the most recent academic year for Mid-Prairie athletics highlights the Golden Hawk coaching staff. A pair of new coaches joined the ranks of girls sports at Mid-Prairie. Sherry Evans became the new Golden Hawk volleyball coach. In her first season at the helm, the Hawks posted a 6-22 record. Highlights included winning the Keota tournament to open the season and sweeping the rival Washington Demons in a pair of matches.

The new girls basketball coach for the Golden Hawks is Danny Hershberger. In his first season, Mid-Prairie finished with a 7-15 overall record. Highlights for the Hawks included wins over Tipton, North Cedar, Wilton, Durant, Bellevue and Anamosa.
