An update on the city pool opening, a budget amendment, the 2020 Farmers’ Market season, and an antique tractor parade request are on Tuesday’s agenda for the Washington City Council. The Farmers’ Market is scheduled to tentatively open June 4th with added precautions due to COVID-19 including one-way walking, an option to order online ahead of time, and added social distancing at vendors’ stalls.
The proposal for the antique tractor parade will be presented by the Washington Chamber of Commerce, with a parade to go through town with people encouraged to stay in their vehicles or in their own yards to observe it.
The council will also discuss and consider work at the Wellness Park, the West 5th Street speed study results, a backhoe purchase, and a grant application for the Washington Boulevard brick rehabilitation project.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday; to view the meeting remotely online request a link by emailing Mayor Jaron Rosien or City Administrator Brent Hinson.
