More people recovered from COVID-19 than new cases were announced Tuesday in Iowa. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health as of 11 a.m. Tuesday, 341 new cases were announced, and 523 people recovered. That brings the total number of cases to 15,296 in Iowa with 7,847 recovered, or a recovery rate of 52.3%.
In Washington County there have been eight deaths from COVID-19, 173 positive cases, and 132 recovered cases. Statewide there have been 367 Iowans who have died from the virus.
People are still encouraged to wash hands frequently with soap and water, practice social distancing, and wear masks in public.
