A local funeral director is volunteering in Washington, D.C. to assist with COVID-19 deaths. Mark Beatty, funeral director with Beatty-Peterseim Funeral and Monument Service, accepted a volunteer deployment with the National Funeral Directors Association. He left for D.C. on May 9th and will return to Washington County in June.
He’s working with the Washington D.C. Chief Office of the Medical Examiner working with COVID-19 deaths. Beatty is joining the staff of the medical examiner, the Army, National Guard, and other funeral directors from around the country as they offer next of kin support, morgue support, and quality assurance support.
