The Family Connection of Washington County has earned the Iowa Family Support Credential. The credential is awarded to family support and parent education programs that are validated through external evaluation and adhere to the Iowa Family Support Standards. The Family Connection of Washington County is part of the Washington County Public Health Department and was formerly called Parents as Teachers.

The program provides high quality services that result in positive outcomes for young children and their families. Families in the county have trained Parent Educators visit them at their home and they provide milestone checks, identify your child’s strengths and interests, and help develop plans to reach goals.
