While it has been rainy this week, May looks to end with partly sunny skies this weekend. The forecast calls for sunny skies Friday and Sunday, with a passing shower or two on Saturday. According to the National Weather Service, just under four inches of rain have fallen in Washington the first 26 days of the month. The normal rainfall for the entire month of May in Washington is 4.6 inches and the record was set in 1996 at 11.5 inches.

So far this year Washington’s total precipitation has been almost two inches below the normal 12.2 inches while the average temperature has been nearly one degree above the normal 38.5 degrees. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
