scavenger-hunt-2020

An anchor, a checkerboard pattern, and a frog in a swimsuit are all part of a photo scavenger hunt that is underway in the City of Washington. The contest is open to anyone who can identify where the 12 photos are located across the City of Washington. Janelle Johnson with Hills Bank shares how the photos were selected, “Basically I just drive around town and look at various spots and kind of drove around for a couple hours one afternoon, just looking for various things that folks may not notice in our community but they are there. So, it’s interesting to see some of these, because yes, I feel as though some of them are very easy to say, ‘Oh, that’s exactly where that is.’ But others are like, ‘Wow, I haven’t seen that before.’ So, it’s a really good chance for people to kind of recognize some of the true beauty of our city that we just drive by every day and don’t really notice.”

All 12 can be found in plain sight. Johnson adds that it is a way for families to get out and see Washington safely while practicing social distancing.

Hills Bank and the Washington Chamber of Commerce are hosting the contest. There are prizes for first, second, and third place. Completed cards can be dropped off at Hills Bank or the Washington Chamber of Commerce, or they may be emailed to washingtonscavengerhunt@gmail.com. The deadline to turn in completed cards is June 6.
