Three structures caught fire at a Winfield property early Wednesday morning. Louisa County Sheriff’s personnel were alerted at 3:39 a.m. to a hay barn that caught fire. The barn was located at 2864 Louisa Henry Avenue, west of Morning Sun. Winfield Fire Chief Josh Sparrow tells KCII News that the fire spread to two other structures, a corn crib and chicken coop. All three structures were not occupied by any individuals or animals. The cause of the fire is labeled as suspicious at this time. The Mount Union Fire Department, Winfield Fire Department, Morning Sun Fire Department, Louisa County Sheriff’s personnel, and Henry County Sheriff’s personnel all assisted at the scene and extinguished the flames. No individuals were harmed.
