A driver who wrecked his car in Brighton knocked over signs twice on Thursday. At 12:49 p.m. authorities received a report of a loud crash and a car in the ditch near 400 North Benton Street in Brighton. Officers responded to the scene and found that the driver, Manu Migambi of Iowa City, was uninjured. Damage was over $1,500 and tow arrangements were being made. There was damage to a City of Brighton sign, a curve sign, and an engine break ordinance sign. The Department of Transportation was notified.

Six hours later authorities were notified that a vehicle being pulled out of the ditch at the same location drove out at a high rate of speed and damaged both vehicles and more signs. The second driver was Darrell Eugene Bell of Brighton. Migambi was cited for no insurance. Both vehicles were driveable. Two no passing zone signs were also knocked down.
