Work is progressing on the remodel of Washington City Hall and a new payment deposit box has been installed. The new metal drop box for payments allows residents to drive up and deposit their payments. The old walk-up drop box was removed as demolition work continues on City Hall.

Last fall the new $2.5 million fire department was completed. Currently, crews are working on remodeling the existing building that housed city hall, the police department and fire department. City council chambers and most of City Hall will be in the footprint of the former fire station, and then the police department will expand. The work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
