Road projects around Washington County are set to kick off this week. Starting on Thursday, Midwest Contractors Inc., based out of Cedar Rapids, will work to patch deteriorated pavement along multiple roads across the county. These roads include: Ginkgo Avenue, west of West Chester; Wayland Road, south of Washington; Riverside Road, southwest of Riverside; and 220th Street, north of Washington. Weather permitting, work on these roads will begin on Thursday, June 4th, and is expected to take up to three weeks for completion. During the work there will be traffic that will be reduced to one lane in these areas for periods of time. Drivers are encouraged to take caution when driving in construction zones and watch out for roadway signage. Midwest Contractors Inc. was awarded the contract for a total of $264,898.62.
