COVID-19 is still circulating as the pandemic continues, and as of Thursday, Iowa has had 20,706 confirmed cases of the virus with 579 deaths. As of Thursday at 11 a.m., 12,183 of those cases have recovered for a statewide recovery rate of nearly 59%.
As of Thursday at 11 a.m., Washington County has had 195 confirmed COVID-19 cases and eight deaths, with 158 recovered cases. Johnson County has 618 cases and nine deaths, Louisa County has 349 cases and 11 deaths, Henry County has 72 cases and two deaths, Jefferson County has had 35 confirmed cases, Iowa County has had 33 cases, and Keokuk County’s case total is 14.
The Iowa Department of Public Health is continuing to urge people to clean hands often, avoid close contact by continuing social distancing measures and staying home, and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
