The KCII Severe Weather Action Team was on the air Friday morning for storms in Washington county. At 7:27a.m. the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Washington county and central Henry county. The storm was located between Washington and Wayland. The city of Washington experienced street flooding with reports of stalled and floating vehicles in the train underpass on second avenue. The Washington Airport reported a 48 mile per hour wind gust just before 7:30. The warning was allowed to expire for Washington county at 7:50. Five members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to bring coverage to the air. If the power would have gone out, the coverage would have continued with backup generators. The one to count on up to the minute severe weather coverage first, fast and accurately is AM and FM KCII.
