The Highland Class of 2020 had their prom cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but they will get the opportunity to be together one last time as they receive their diplomas. The school district will graduate 48 seniors this weekend in a socially distant manner. Weather permitting, this year’s ceremony will take place on the football field, with limited audience attendance. It will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Seniors will each be allowed eight guests to attend graduation. If the ceremony is moved inside, only four guests per senior will be allowed to attend. Seating on the bleachers will be marked off with at least six feet of distance between each group to comply with public health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Mask use will be encouraged for audience members and seniors, but is not required. After the ceremony, a parade around the school’s parking lot will commence to celebrate the seniors’ accomplishments. Staff members ask that anyone who is feeling ill or is at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 to refrain from attending
