The Crawford family and the Washington County Conservation Board have come to a new lease agreement on Crawford Pond. At Thursday’s meeting, the conservation board passed a resolution to extend the current agreement for another 10 years, set to expire on June 30th of 2030. Executive Director Zach Rozmus says due to the COVID-19 outbreak and Ron Crawford, the primary owner of the land, being out of state, an agreement took longer than expected to be reached. Since 1991, the Crawford family has leased over, without charge, fishing and picnicking privileges to the conservation board while hunting trapping and all other rights remain with the owners. The pond is open from 4 a.m. till 10:30 p.m. to the public. Camping and driving outside of the parking area is prohibited.
