A Washington man was arrested after eluding officers on a motorcycle near Lake Darling Saturday. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 6:42 p.m. an officer had a motorcycle take off from a vehicle stop on Highway 78, at the entrance of Lake Darling. There were two people on the motorcycle that was eastbound. The chase ended in a wreck in a bean field east of Elm, north of Highway 78.

Officers arrested 39-year-old Daymun Roger Schadt for driving while barred, eluding, reckless driving, and interference with official acts. It was found that the motorcycle was listed as stolen from Missouri. Schadt also had two Washington County warrants for failure to appear for an initial appearance for driving while license denied, suspended, cancelled, or revoked. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
