The No. 10 ranked Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team flexed their muscles on Monday night, rolling visiting Northeast Goose Lake 10-0 in a five inning mercy rule shortened game.

The offense took a while to get warmed up for the Hawks, with things scoreless through the first three innings, but in the fourth Mid-Prairie exploded for six runs and added four more in the fifth to finish things early. Starting pitcher Brad Tornow was on point from the opening pitch. The returning all-state plowed through the Rebel lineup, striking out 13 hitters in just five innings, allowing only one hit on the night. Aidan Rath had two hits and an RBI while Karson Grout drove in a pair.

Mid-Prairie is now 1-0 on the year and will next be in action Wednesday when they host Eddyville-Blakesburg for a doubleheader.
