Fireworks will be used to celebrate Independence Day. The City of Washington will be holding their annual Fourth of July fireworks show at the Washington County Fairgrounds, people are encouraged to practice social distancing.
In the City of Washington, residents can discharge fireworks, per city code, only between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. July 3rd and between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 4th. The code also has regulations on where they can be set off; they cannot be used in public spaces like parks and streets. Also, aerial shell kits, reloadable tubes, mine and shell devices are prohibited.
The state legislature approves the sale of consumer fireworks in the state, and cities may set their own ordinances regarding the use of fireworks.
