The Kalona city pool is set to reopen this week with attendance limitations in place. Starting Friday, the pool will give first priority to those within the Kalona city limits and only 60 patrons will be allowed in at one time. If that capacity has not been reached for the first half hour, the pool will begin to sell daily passes to residents of the surrounding area. Two shifts will be available per day for admissions with a daily rate of $3 per person. Patrons are only allowed to attend one shift per day. Along with these restrictions, the YMCA of Washington County has put restrictions on large groups, large flotation devices, water guns, swim toys, and pool party reservations at this time. Patrons will also have to sanitize their hands before entering the facility. The pool will close at 6:30 p.m. in order to fulfill the increased cleaning protocols and to offer swim lessons that start at 7 p.m. These guidelines are subject to change as the organization sees fit.
