The Washington baseball team seeks their first Southeast Conference wins of the season tonight when they travel to Community Field in Burlington to face off with a new league foe in the Grayhounds.

The Demons are 2-3 overall after being swept by Fort Madison on Tuesday in the SEC opener by 3-1 and 4-1 final tallies. Washington will look to shore up the defense after committing eight errors in the doubleheader and only one of the runs were earned. Washington did have two strong outings on the bump with Ethan Patterson  tossing six innings giving up just two hits and Lucas Kroll threw a complete game three hitter in the nightcap. Trevor Quigley leads the offense on the campaign with a .500 batting average and two RBI.

The Grayhounds are 1-2 on the young season and they have been off since last Monday when Fort Madison took care of them 18-3. Brock Dengler leads the offense at the plate recording a hit in five out of eight at-bats. No pitcher has thrown more than three innings including Dengler, who has given up just one hit.

The doubleheader gets underway at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Community Field, home of the Burlington Bees. Listen to all of the action on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 5 p.m.
