The Henry County Conservation Department will help kids bring the magic of summer camp to their homes. Due to COVID-19 cancelling their line-up of summer camps, the conservation department has created take-home camp packets for kids in grades second and third to complete at home. Each packet will take two to three hours to complete and offers a variety of different subjects. The first set of packets will teach kids about pioneer life, Native American games, constellations, and Skunk River life. Each packet will cost $6 and will take three business days to receive. More packets are planned to be released July 13, that will cover topics such as bugs, reptiles and amphibians, birds, and recycling and art. Along with these camp packets, the conservation department is also providing free self-guided hikes and campground programs at Oakland Mills Park this summer. Information on these hikes and activities, and a link to purchase summer camp packets can be found by visiting the Henry County Conservation website.
