After some Kalona Public library staff came in contact with a positive COVID-19 case, prompting the library to close for two weeks, library staff have recently brought back the curbside pickup program and started their new reopening plan. The library officially opened its doors to its collection and computer usage by appointment only. At this time, the library has a capacity limit of five patrons at one time in order to keep the amount of materials touched to a minimum. Appointment days and times for their collection and computer usage will be Tuesdays 2-6 p.m. and Thursday noon-4 p.m. Those who are considered high risk will have the option of separate appointments. Patrons are encouraged to wear a face covering when inside the library. To check out materials from the curbside pickup program or to set up an on-site appointment time, call the library.
