Road work continues around Washington County this summer and this month one road will see some sprucing up. One and a half miles of Spruce Avenue, in between Riverside Road and 135th Street south of Riverside, will be completely closed to oncoming traffic for the remainder of July beginning Monday. The Spruce Avenue road project is part of Washington County’s five-year road improvement plan.  This project will involve a box culvert extension, re-grading of the road to restore the road cross section, improving ditch drainage, and will place a new rock surface. The project will cost $232,142.50 to be completed by DeLong Construction.
