Grab your lawn chair, some popcorn, a soda, and head to Washington’s Central Park for a free movie this Friday. Main Street Washington is bringing back Movies on Main. One Friday each month a big screen will be put up on the Central Park bandstand and people can watch for free. This week Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven will visit Washington as they’re showing Frozen II. Families are welcome.
Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt says people are encouraged to social distance at the event, “People usually spread out pretty well anyways, but we are asking people to maintain social distance. So, make sure there is a good gap between you and your neighbors. If you bring a blanket, please stay to your blanket; don’t try to sprawl out. We will have some hand sanitizing stations set up so if you need to jump up and wash your hands. And the bathrooms will be open. But we’re not going to draw circles on the park and ask people to maintain within those circles. We want you to be comfortable. But please just be conscious of your neighbors. Wear a mask if you feel necessary. Just be a good neighbor.”
The movie begins at 8:30 p.m. Concessions will not be provided on site this year, but the State Theater will be selling popcorn to go. August’s movie is Trolls World Tour and September has yet to be announced.
