A mini three team round robin softball tournament took place in Packwood on Tuesday with Sigourney splitting a pair of games and Columbus Community dropping two.

The Savages utilized an eight-run sixth against the Wildcats to pull away for a 12-1 victory. Kaylee Weber finished 3-for-4 with one RBI and Madelynn Hornback drove in four. Courtney Hemsley tossed all six innings giving up one run on seven hits. Sigourney turned around and had a hard time against host Pekin falling 10-0 in six innings including giving up six tallies in the fourth. Carly Goodwin had two of the team’s four hits and Hornback threw 3 1/3 innings giving up four runs on three hits. 

Columbus also lost to Pekin 10-1 and they closed the regular season with a 2-7 mark. Sigourney is 13-2 and hosts North Mahaska this evening for Senior Night.
