Getting back in the win column is the goal for the Washington baseball team tonight when they take a dip out of conference and travel to Oskaloosa.
Washington closed Southeast Conference play on Monday with a doubleheader loss at Mount Pleasant by 9-0 and 8-2 tallies to finish 5-5 in the league and sit at 7-6 overall. The Demon offense could only manufacture four hits in both contests with Ethan Zieglowsky having a pair of knocks in game one and Ethan Patterson recording two RBI in the nightcap. Zeke Slagel tossed 4 1/3 innings on the bump giving up five runs on eight hits and Lucas Kroll went 4 1/3 giving up two earned runs.
The Indians will be a challenge, as they are 12-4 out of the Little Hawkeye Conference and they defeated Carlisle 13-2 on Tuesday. Noah Van Veldhuizen has produced a .426 batting average with 24 RBI and Jarrett Czerwinski has a 1.64 ERA in 25 innings on the mound.
The non-conference action begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Oskaloosa and listen to the single game on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 7 p.m.
