A person between 18 and 40 years old is the first death associated with COVID-19 in Iowa County. The announcement came Tuesday. The Iowa County Public Health Department states all residents should continue to follow all precautions to avoid getting COVID-19 and passing it onto others. People should wash their hands often, avoid close contact with others, wear a face mask or face shield in public like at the grocery store or at work, cover coughs and sneezes, and disinfect surfaces regularly.

Also, monitor your health for symptoms of COVID-19 like fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you do have symptoms, isolate yourself from others and call your health care provider. As of Wednesday morning, Iowa County had 53 cases with one death and 44 recoveries.
