Brava Roof Tile has moved into the former Whitesell building and work has been approved to make the open field to the east into a residential area. At the recent city council meeting, City Administrator Brent Hinson provided an update, “Talked with Brava this week, everything I think is going great for them. They’ve actually been in the facility for several weeks now getting everything set up and production going there. So, they’re really excited. I think we’ve got a great deal for the City, for WEDG, for the community.”

Brava will pay monthly installments to the City for eight years and then it ends with a balloon payment. The City was gifted the building by Whitesell after the manufacturer closed the facility last fall. The building was then sold to Brava Roof Tile for $1.2 million.

The council approved plans and specifications for improvements in the subdivision for $261,000 to Garden and Associates. That work will include installation of storm sewer, boring of the sanitary sewer services and grading the detention basin. They initially planned to have city staff to do the water services, but they’re behind on current projects so they may have a contractor do the work with an addendum up to $15,000.

Hinson says they may be able to sell housing lots as soon as July 22nd with prices ranging from $22,000 to $30,000.
