Reopening plans for the campus of Iowa Wesleyan University are continuing with phase three this week. In their effort to reopen campus before the new school year begins, phase three includes holding public events on a case-by-case basis in accordance with group size limitations, opening the Harlan-Lincoln House museum by appointment only, and keeping campus closed to the public at this time. Phase four and later phases will depend on the local health situation, but may include students returning to campus and athletic events continuing with no audience members. The University plans to resume in-person learning on August 24. Once the school year begins, students and staff will be expected to wear face coverings in confined areas such as bathrooms, hallways, and classrooms, wash their hands and sanitize rooms regularly, and socially distance themselves from others. The University will welcome students back on August 2 beginning with fall athletes, residential assistants, and campus tour guides.
