A late inning surge extended the Highland baseball season on Saturday, as they stormed past Lisbon 7-5 in a first round class 1A district game at New London.
The Huskies trailed 5-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh when they rallied off three runs that proved to be the game winner. Chase Schultz threw a complete game on the hill giving up five earned runs on nine hits, walking four, and striking out five. Luke Miller and Trevor McFarland each had a pair of hits while Schultz and Connor Grinstead knocked in two tallies.
The Huskies improve to 8-6 and advance to the district semifinal tonight at New London. The Tigers are 13-3 and won the only meeting of the season between these teams by a 6-0 final on June 26th.
