Prepare for hot and humid conditions this weekend, as heat indices are expected to climb into triple digits on Saturday and Sunday. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities states humid conditions will return this weekend, with afternoon heat index readings from 100 to 105 degrees likely.
During such conditions, it’s recommended that people limit time outdoors and in the sun, take breaks in air conditioning, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and always check your vehicle before you lock it for children and pets.
The KCII-listening area has a chance for thunderstorms before the heat sets in on Saturday. Listen to KCII Radio for weather updates.
