The Burlington Notre Dame offense never led up in a class 1A district baseball semifinal against Lone Tree on Tuesday, as they powered their way to a 17-7 victory.
The Nikes scored in every inning including being up 12-1 after four. The Lions would not go down without a fight, as they put up five runs in the fifth, but the Nikes went right back to work for the mercy-rule win after six frames. Burlington Notre Dame peppered 14 hits led by a 4-for-5 performance from Jeron Conner. Lone Tree was led by a 2-for-3 night from Tim Mills with three RBI. Cade Shield, Harmon Miller, and Josh Mills all pitched with 14 runs being earned.
The Lions closed the year 7-7 and they bid farewell to five seniors in Miller, Tim and Josh Mills, Cale Yoder, and Keegan Edwards.
