Another class 1A regional softball tournament is upon us, and the Sigourney Savages are putting together yet another deep run. Sigourney continued their season by dispatching conference foe English Valleys on Thursday in the regional quarterfinal round by a 10-1 score at Schafer Field. The Savages lit up the scoreboard on the strength of nine hits, led by Madelynn Hornback with her three for three night and one RBI. Courtney Hemsley, Kaylee Weber and Dani Richards all had two hits. Richards drove in four while Weber and Raegan Rozenboom each had two RBI. In the circle Carly Goodwin held down the Bears going all seven innings, giving up just one hit and one run while striking out 13 EV hitters. Sigourney is now 15-4 on the year and will travel to Lynnville-Sully Friday for a class 1A regional semifinal contest.
