For the second straight round of the postseason, the Sigourney Savages will see a familiar conference foe across the diamond on Friday when they travel to Lynnville-Sully for the 1A regional semifinals. Sigourney comes into the game with an overall record of 15-4 after a 10-1 win over English Valleys in the quarterfinal round. The Savages are hitting .360 as a team, led by Megan Stuhr at .582, fourth in class 1A. She has 32 total hits, 30RBI and 30 runs scored. In the circle, Sigourney has a 2.17 ERA, seventh in the state. The Savages are led by Carly Goodwin at 2.07 with a 6-2 overall record and 95 strikeouts in 50 innings of work.

Lynnville-Sully is 16-2 overall and were 11-0 undefeated champions of the South Iowa Cedar League in the shortened season. The Hawks are ranked No. 4 in class 1A in the final poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. They started the playoffs Wednesday with a 12-0 win over Tri-County in the quarterfinal round of the tournament. For the year the Hawks are hitting .366 as a team, 10th best in the state. They are led by Laci Keen at .490 on the season with 25 hits. Caitlin Alberts has a team best 26RBI. In the circle Lynnville has a team ERA of 1.88, fifth in Iowa. They are led by Denali Conover with a 1.70ERA in 94 innings with a 15-2 overall record. These two teams met in the regular season with the Hawks getting by the Savages by a 6-4 score. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Lynnville-Sully High School.
