A man was assaulted with a lawn mower in rural Riverside Sunday morning. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 11:46 a.m. emergency officials were notified of an alleged assault in the 1300 block of Deer Run drive. The caller said that her boyfriend had been run over by a mower that the neighbor was driving. She said he possibly has a broken leg and cannot move.

The Washington County Ambulance, Riverside QRS, and Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded to the scene. The man was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital.

Names of those involved have not been released. As of Monday, no charges had been filed. The case is being forwarded to the Washington County Attorney’s Office.
