The Riverside City Council approved two change orders and a pay request for their 4th Street renovation project. While excavating the water main on 4th Street to connect to the main on Greene Street, J&L Construction found the water main pipes to have an opening of four inches instead of six inches as described on city maps. Construction crews worked to remove the four-inch opening pipes and replace it with the appropriate larger pipes. That work cost a total of $4,507. J&L Construction also worked with Kalonial Tree Service to trim a large locust tree at the northeast corner of 4th Street and Rose Street. That work cost $442.75. The council also approved the payment for work done between June 8 and July 10, representing 45% completion of the project, for a total of $174,401.23. The project has an estimated completion date of August 17.
